Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine the strawberries, granulated sugar, cornstarch, and salt, stirring to coat the strawberries evenly.
- Place the saucepan over medium heat and cook, stirring occasionally, until the strawberries release their juices and the mixture begins to bubble, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the lemon juice and continue cooking for another 2-3 minutes, or until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Allow the sauce to cool slightly before serving it warm, or let it cool completely and refrigerate for later use.
