  • ½ cup salted butter
  • 3 cups strawberries tops removed, some halved and some quartered
  • ½ cup granulated sugar plus 1 tbsp., divided
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350℉.
  2. Add the butter to a 9×13 inch baking dish and place it in the oven to melt.
  3. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the strawberries with ½ cup of sugar, stirring gently to coat. Set aside.
  4. In another mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Then add the milk, vanilla, and 1 tbsp sugar, whisking until a smooth batter forms.
  5. Once the butter is melted, remove the baking dish from the oven and carefully spread the strawberry mixture evenly over the melted butter.
  6. Pour the cobbler batter evenly over the strawberries. Do not stir.
  7. Return the baking dish to the oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  8. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or Cool Whip on top.
