  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 slices pepper jack cheese
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 large tomato, sliced
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 1/2 cup homemade pineapple cowgirl candy, or more as desired
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 1 tablespoon butter or oil, optional, for grilling onions

  2. Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and gently shape them into burger patties.
