Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs ground beef (85% lean/15% fat)
- 1 egg
- 6 small cloves garlic
- 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 8 hamburger buns
- 8 slices american cheese
- 1/2 head romaine lettuce
- 2 tomatoes
- 1/2 onion
- additional toppings: mayonnaise, ketchup, pickles
Instructions
- Preheat your oven by lining a 21×14 sheet pan with parchment paper or grease it with cooking spray.
- In a large bowl, mix together 2 lbs of ground beef, 1 egg, crushed garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper until sticky and well combined.
- Shape the beef mixture in the bowl, scoring the top into 8 pie slices and forming balls with each piece.
- Place the balls on the sheet pan and flatten each one with your hand to form round patties about 4-5 inches wide.
- Put the sheet pan on the middle rack of the oven, broiling on high for 8-10 minutes, then flip and broil for an additional 3-5 minutes, ensuring the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- Once cooked, turn off the oven and place a slice of cheese on each burger, returning them to the oven for 1 minute to melt the cheese.
- Serve the burgers in buns topped with lettuce, tomatoes, sliced onions, and any desired condiments like mayonnaise, ketchup, or pickles.
