Ingredients

  • 2 black tea bags (family sized)
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 2 cups water
  • 12 ounces raspberries fresh or frozen
  • 6 cups water

Instructions

  1. Bring 2 cups of water to a boil in a small saucepan.
  2. Add ¾ cup sugar to the boiling water and stir until dissolved (omit sugar for unsweetened tea).
  3. Remove from heat and add the black tea bags, steeping for 15 minutes for a strong flavor or 10 minutes for a lighter brew.
  4. In another saucepan, combine 6 cups of water and the raspberries, and bring to a boil.
  5. Reduce heat and let it simmer for an additional 5 minutes, then remove from heat and steep for another 5 minutes.
  6. Strain the raspberry mixture using a cheesecloth or strainer to discard solid pieces.
  7. Remove the tea bags from the brewed tea and mix it with the raspberry liquid.
  8. Refrigerate the mixture until ready to serve.
