Ingredients
- 12 eggs
- 1/3 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup ground flaxseed
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/3 cup coconut flour
- 1 cup whey protein powder
- 1 cup shredded cheddar
- 1 teaspoon italian seasonings
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 8 ounces sweet italian sausage casings removed, cooked, crumbled
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
- In a stand mixer, blend the eggs and sour cream until mixed thoroughly.
- In a bowl, whisk together the ground flaxseed, sea salt, baking powder, coconut flour, and whey protein powder.
- Gradually add the dry ingredient mix into the wet mixture in the stand mixer.
- In a small bowl, combine cheddar cheese, Italian seasonings, and garlic powder.
- Mix half of this cheese and seasoning blend into the batter in the mixer.
- Grease two donut pans using olive oil cooking spray.
- Distribute the batter evenly into the donut pans.
- Add half of the cooked sausage crumbles into the batter of each bagel.
- Sprinkle the remaining sausage crumbles over the top of each bagel.
- Bake for 20 minutes.
- Take the bagels out of the oven and distribute the remaining shredded cheese on top of each.
- Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes.
- Let the bagels cool slightly. Use a knife to loosen them around the edges and in the center.
- Enjoy the bagels warm, or refrigerate and reheat in the microwave for 30 seconds to a minute.
