- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk

- 1 lb bread cut into 3/4 inch slices
- butter for cooking

Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt. Pour the mixture into a large casserole dish.
- In a large skillet, melt about 1-2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. While the butter is melting, dip a few pieces of bread in the milk mixture for 3 seconds per side.
- Place the dipped bread in the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Keep the cooked French toast warm in the oven on a cookie sheet set at 250 degrees F until ready to serve. Serve with optional toppings such as butter, maple syrup, fruit, whipped cream, or powdered sugar.
