Instructions
- Cut the crust off all sides of the 8 slices of bread and then slice into 1-inch sticks.
- In a large, shallow bowl, crack the 4 eggs and whisk until blended well.
- Add the 1 cup heavy cream and 2 teaspoons vanilla extract to the eggs and whisk until smooth and custard-like.
- Mix in the 2 tablespoons powdered sugar and ½ teaspoon cinnamon until no lumps remain.
- Heat a large pan or griddle over medium heat (about 325°F), coating it with butter or cooking spray.
- Dip each bread stick into the custard, ensuring all sides and edges are coated, then place on the greased griddle. Repeat with the remaining sticks, working in batches if needed.
- Cook for approximately 5 minutes until golden brown, then flip and toast the other side for another 5 minutes.
- Transfer cooked French Toast Sticks to a plate and sprinkle with powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar before serving.
