This Dollywood Cinnamon Bread offers an irresistible flavor with simple prep. With key ingredients like sweet cinnamon and butter, this is the ultimate homemade treat.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 10 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound frozen bread dough thawed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 8 Tablespoons salted butter melted
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2–3 Tablespoons lemon juice (or water)

Instructions

  1. Coat two 9” x 5” loaf pans with non-stick spray and line with parchment paper.
  2. Combine sugar and cinnamon in a shallow dish; set aside. Pour melted butter into another shallow dish; set aside.
  3. Cut the dough in half lengthwise and flatten each piece into a 9” x 4” rectangle. Make 4 crosswise slits along the top of each loaf, being careful not to cut all the way through.
  4. Dip the dough in melted butter, coating both sides and inside each slit. A pastry brush can be used as an alternative.
  5. Roll the butter-coated dough in the cinnamon sugar mixture, ensuring both sides and slits are well covered.
  6. Place the dough in the prepared pans, pouring any remaining butter over the tops and into the slits. Sprinkle more cinnamon sugar on top. Allow to rise in a warm place for 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
  7. Preheat the oven to 300° degrees. Bake for 30-35 minutes. Once removed from the oven, brush the tops with extra melted butter if desired. Cool for 5 minutes on a wire rack while preparing the glaze.
  8. Whisk together powdered sugar and lemon juice or water in a small bowl. Drizzle the glaze over the warm loaves.

Extra melted butter on top adds a delightful shine and flavor.
