- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 8 ounces full-fat cream cheese, softened
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
Instructions
- In a large bowl or stand mixer, cream together the softened butter and cream cheese until smooth.
- Gradually add powdered sugar and mix until combined.
- Beat in the vanilla extract, adding the eggs one at a time and mixing well after each.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, salt, baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon.
- Slowly incorporate the dry ingredients into the cream cheese mixture until a dough forms.
- Cover the bowl tightly and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or form dough into balls and chill.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a small bowl, combine granulated sugar and 1 1/2 tablespoons ground cinnamon.
- Scoop dough into balls using about 2 heaping teaspoons per cookie and roll in cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Place on ungreased baking sheets and bake for 10–12 minutes until set.
- Cool on the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
