Ingredients
Scale
- 6 slices bacon, chopped
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium yellow onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 14.5 ounces diced tomatoes, undrained
- 10 ounces diced tomatoes and green chilies, undrained
- 8 ounces tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon hot sauce, or to taste
- 8 ounces spaghetti noodles
- 1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
- 3 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti according to the package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crisp, about 5 to 7 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and set aside, leaving the bacon grease in the pan.
- Add the ground beef and diced onion to the hot grease. Cook, breaking up the meat, until fully browned and onions are soft, about 6 to 8 minutes. Drain excess grease if desired.
- Stir in garlic, salt, and black pepper. Cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the undrained diced tomatoes, diced tomatoes with green chilies, tomato sauce, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce. Stir well, scraping up browned bits from the pan.
- Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low. Let it simmer uncovered for 10 to 12 minutes to blend flavors and thicken the sauce slightly.
- Toss the cooked spaghetti into the sauce until the pasta is coated.
- Top with shredded cheddar cheese and reserved bacon. Cover for 2 to 3 minutes until cheese melts. Garnish with green onions and serve hot.
