  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar

  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup raisins
  • 1 cup cold buttermilk
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon whole milk

Instructions

  1. Freeze the freshly milled flour and butter for 30 minutes before starting.
  2. Soak raisins in hot water for 15 minutes, then drain and pat dry.
  3. Preheat the oven to 450°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  4. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  5. Grate cold butter into the flour mixture and toss gently to combine.
  6. Add soaked raisins and mix evenly into the dough.
  7. Stir in cold buttermilk until the dough comes together without over mixing. Refrigerate for 12-15 minutes.
  8. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface, pat into a rectangle, and fold it three times to develop layers.
  9. Cut out biscuits and arrange them on the prepared baking sheet.
  10. Bake for about 15 minutes, until golden brown and risen. Cool for 10 minutes.
  11. Mix powdered sugar and milk to make a glaze, then drizzle it over the biscuits.
