- 2 tablespoons heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons granulated sugar
Instructions
- Thaw the frozen pie crusts for 10 minutes and place in a pie pan.
- Whisk 3 eggs in one bowl, and separate the remaining 3 eggs.
- Combine ricotta, sour cream, whisked eggs, vanilla, and orange liquor in a bowl.
- Incorporate ground cinnamon, orange zest, and granulated sugar into the ricotta mixture.
- Pour filling into the prepared pie crust and cover with foil.
- Bake at 325°F for 1 hour.
- Prepare egg wash with cream and almond extract while the pie bakes.
- Cut and prepare pie crust strips, brush with egg wash, and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
- Create a lattice top over the pie filling.
- Increase oven temperature to 350°F and bake for an additional 20 minutes.
- Cool the pie for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
