- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

- 1 cup buttermilk room temperature

- 1 tsp baking soda

- 2 tsp unsweetened baking cocoa
- 1 ½ tsp vanilla extract
- 1 oz red food coloring
- 16 oz cream cheese softened
- 1 cup unsalted butter softened
- 8 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tbsp milk
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F.
- Grease and flour three 8-inch round cake pans, or use baking spray, then set them aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the granulated sugar and vegetable oil, mixing well.
- Add in the buttermilk, eggs, vanilla extract, and red food coloring, then mix until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, cocoa powder, and vinegar.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
- Divide the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
