- Add sliced mushrooms in a single layer to the hot pan, ensuring not to overcrowd them.
- Cook the mushrooms undisturbed until they turn golden brown, then stir and continue cooking until tender and moisture has evaporated.
- Add shallots and garlic, cooking for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Season with salt, black pepper, and thyme, then stir in Worcestershire sauce.
- Deglaze the pan with white wine, scraping up browned bits, and let it reduce by about half.
- Lower the heat to medium-low and stir in heavy cream, simmering gently while stirring until the sauce thickens.
- Add grated parmesan cheese, stirring until melted and smooth.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if needed, then serve immediately over steak.
