Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Pepper, for seasoning
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup oyster sauce
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • ½ teaspoon ginger, grated
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth (low sodium preferred)
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 1 pound broccoli florets
  • Optional garnish: chopped green onions, toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

  • Season beef with pepper.
  • Cut beef against the grain into thin strips.
  • In Instant Pot, heat olive oil and brown beef strips.
  • Mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, ginger, red pepper flakes, and garlic for the sauce.
  • Pour beef broth in pot, scraping bottom for bits.
  • Add sauce to beef and cook on high pressure for 10 minutes.
  • Make a slurry with cornstarch and water, add to pot, and thicken the sauce.
  • Stir in broccoli and boil for 3 minutes, then let it rest for 5 minutes.
  • Serve hot with optional garnishes and side dishes.
