Instructions
- Combine heavy cream, salt, pepper, garlic, and thyme in a saucepan; simmer gently.
- Heat a skillet, melt butter, and sauté shallots until tender.
- Layer sliced potatoes in the skillet, overlapping slightly.
- Pour cream mixture over the potatoes; cover with foil.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 325°F for 75-85 minutes until fork-tender.
- Remove foil, sprinkle cheese on top, and broil until golden brown.
