- 6 slices bacon chopped
- 1 small onion diced
- 6 cups chopped green cabbage core removed, 1-inch pieces
- ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes or to taste, optional
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet or cast iron pan over medium heat.
- Add chopped bacon and cook until crisp, then remove with a slotted spoon, leaving drippings in the pan.
- Add diced onion to the drippings and cook until tender, about 3-4 minutes.
- Stir in the chopped cabbage and cook for 15-20 minutes or until tender.
- Season with red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper to taste.
- Sprinkle cooked bacon on top and serve.
