- 6 tablespoons (84 grams) butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon (3 grams) salt
- ½ teaspoon (1 gram) ground cinnamon
- 1 cup (180 grams) semisweet or dark chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon (6 grams) flaky sea salt (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Cream together sugar and softened butter until creamy.
- Mix in flour until it resembles sand.
- Press crumbs into the bottom of the prepared pan.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden.
- Toast pecans on a baking sheet for 4-5 minutes until fragrant.
- Whisk together eggs, granulated sugar, corn syrup, butter, vanilla, salt, and cinnamon.
- Stir in toasted pecans.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips over cooled shortbread crust, pour filling over.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until filling is set.
- Cool completely before slicing into bars.
