- 3 tablespoons butter, divided
- 2 tablespoons chopped onion
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1 (32-ounce) package frozen French-style green beans, thawed and drained
- ¼ teaspoon freshly ground nutmeg
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 ½ cups sour cream
- ½ cup bacon bits
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup cornflakes, crumbled
- Freshly grated Parmesan, for serving
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F and prepare a baking dish.
- Melt butter in a pan, sauté onions and garlic until fragrant.
- Add green beans and cook until heated through.
- Prepare the cream sauce with remaining butter, flour, nutmeg, salt, and pepper; mix in sour cream.
- Combine green beans with the cream sauce.
- Transfer to baking dish, top with bacon bits and cheddar cheese.
- Mix cornflakes with melted butter and add on top.
- Bake for 20 minutes and finish with grated Parmesan.
