  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
  • 1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 11 oz caramels (1 package, unwrapped)
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  • Cream together softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Mix in eggs, vanilla extract, and pumpkin puree until well combined.
  • Gradually add dry ingredients (flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking soda, and salt) and mix carefully.
  • Spread 2/3 of the batter in a greased 9×13 inch pan.
  • Sprinkle chopped walnuts and chocolate chips over the base layer.
  • Melt caramels with heavy cream in the microwave until smooth.
  • Pour melted caramel over the chocolate chips and walnuts.
  • Dollop remaining batter over the caramel layer.
  • Bake at 350°F for about 25 minutes until edges are golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
